If you have a metal (steel) grill or smoker ….here is a helpfull hint…..spray the outside with non stick spray before you use the grill the first time and after EVERYTIME you use it while the grill is hot! Spray both all over the inside…lid too….and all over the outside…..making sure you get the bottom…….if you spray the grill while it is still hot the non stick will bake on and cut down on the rusting …….it will not prevent it, but it slows it way down allowing you to get more service out of your grill or smoker .
This refers to grills that are painted black and not the ones with enamel!
Anonymous asked: I am a tiny house dweller wannabe (10 more years to retirement) and reading your blog has helped me sort out what I want in a tiny house tremendously. I learn the most when you CHANGE something i.e. your kitchen layout, your bed, etc. Is your portable washing machine a Haier? Also, are you still happy with your current sleeping arrangements?
Yes the washer is (Haier). The bed is not perfect but is in my case better than loft…..if I could figure a way to have a bedroom I would in an instant!
Thanks for taking time to read……my heart for this blog was to help others…….by showing the good the bad and the ugly!…….lol
I was going to buy a combo washer/dryer…..but my sister gave me her 3 y.o. washer…..i have used it a bunch……2 to 5 loads per week…….1.5 cubic foot……towels…jeans require more loads…..never the less, i love this tiny work horse!
Compared to what other tiny house folks have said about combo units……i will take this one 20 to 45 minuet wash time depending what cycle you choose…..on heavy soil it is 1.5 hr wash/ soak/rinse….in good weather(means no rain & above freezing) I hang outside like my mother did when I was a kid…..love clothes dryed outside……so fresh!..there is a matching dryer that goes with this(rain or freezing out days) that can be wall mounted and vented to the outside, but just not been in the budget yet….in time.
